Sunday the 19th March 2016 saw the Freshwater Independent Life Boat (FILB) retired D Class used to simulate a capsized Reinforced Inflatable Boat (RIB). The new D Class (soon to be formally launched) on hand to help  get the old D Class capsized.  It's harder to capsize it than it is to right it - which is reassuring given the number of ribs there are out on our waters today. The Training crew led by Ray Scott (Instructor) and Tony Moore (Coxswain) demonstrated the technique of up righting the capsized D Class rib. The waters were cool, but the weather fine for this time of the year. It's great to see the bay in a calmer state given the beating the bay has received in recent weeks. The Lifeboat was launched by Tony Moore (Coxswain) and Tim Lee (Deputy Coxswain) for a run round the bay. Finally the exercise was completed with some pacing training between the Lifeboat and the D Class Rib. Thomas getting tuition from Tim Lee and Matthew Wolfe. A great job Tom!!
